Dear Ralph:

I am sure you know that the PSC has been very
concerned about the lack of health coverage for our
adjunct constituents. We have a plan to cover our
members at group rates on a voluntary basis but the
rate is rather high. I imagine that the Trustees,
who are experience rated, would be able to do better.

Would you be good enough to look into the costs
of covering adjunct personnel with Blue Cross and
either GHI or Blue Shield? We would be interested
only in those who do not have coverage through
another employer; the number would run approximately
2000. Once you have come up with a cost figure, the
PSC will give some thought as to how we might manage
to provide all or some of such coverage.
